PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
You will meet with your classmates for the first time in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCT Prague) is the largest educational institution of its kind in Central Europe with a tradition spanning almost two centuries. With progressive fields of study and a prestigious international reputation, UCT Prague provides every student with education in advanced technologies and excellent preparation for lucrative careers worldwide. Prague offers great sightseeing spots such as Prague Castle, Charles Bridge as well as flashy new art galleries, dynamically developing old neighborhoods, great bars and restaurants.
DELFT, THE NETHERLANDS
The second stop of your journey is Delft in the Netherlands. IHE Delft is located in the historical centre of Delft, a city of great charm characterized by ancient canals, beautifully kept monuments and historic squares. It is also a young, vibrant city with a large student population and an ideal starting point to explore the Netherlands and Europe. IHE Delft creates a life-changing experience for its students by exposing them to an intercultural environment characterized by plurality and diversity of ideas, experiences and disciplines. The students develop intellectually, professionally and personally while participating in the programme and are prepared to continuously develop professionally ('lifelong learning').
GHENT, BELGIUM
The third place of study is Ghent, Gent in Dutch, or Gand in French. Ghent University is a socially committed and pluralistic university that is open to all students, regardless of their ideological, political, cultural or social background. The city of Ghent is one of Europe’s greatest discoveries – small enough to feel cosy but big enough to stay vibrant. Much of the city's medieval architecture remains intact and is remarkably well preserved and restored. Its centre is the largest carfree area in Belgium. Highlights are the Saint Bavo Cathedral with the Ghent Altarpiece, the belfry, the Gravensteen castle, and the splendid architecture along the old Graslei harbour.
THESIS
The Master Dissertation is an integrated part of the IMETE Master Programme and is credited at 30 ECTS. All students are doing thesis work during their last semester in one of the 3 IMETE Consortium partners or IMETE associated partners.
